Port of Safaga set for upgrade

Cairo: Dr Ahmed Galal, Egypt’s Minister of Finance, confirmed that the ministry will soon finish technical studies for the seven major projects planned with for participation with the private sector, so that these projects will be put out during the first half of the current fiscal year 2013/2014.

The projects include the development, operation and maintenance of the industrial port of Safaga.

Atter Hanoura, head of the partnership unit with the private sector at the Ministry of Finance, explained that the project of developing the industrial port of Safaga, will allow for the first time the export of liquid phosphoric acid, an intermediate product of phosphate ore. [11/08/13]
