Port of Seattle senior management return ‘illegal’ bonuses

Top management at the Port of Seattle are to pay back their annual bonuses which were ruled illegal payments by the state auditor.

The port in December 2015 had granted $4.8m in bonuses to around 650 staff, of which $3m went to senior management.

The illegal payouts have already sparked a back and forth row between the ex-CEO Ted Fick who resigned earlier this year and the current administration of the port.

The state’s attorney general is reviewing an audit of the port’s finances looking for any potential prosecution.
