Ports boss graft trial continues

Muscat: Port Services Corporation (PSC) has said its board member, Qasim bin Ahmed al Shizawi, who is the director general of ports at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, has been undergoing a court trial.

The director general is a government nominee and the court case has nothing to do with the Port Services Corporation, the company said in a disclosure statement.

The government official is accused by state prosecutors of receiving a bribe from Faithi Alaaiddin and Rizq Mustafa, executives at Consolidated Contractors Co – Oman (CCC-Oman), to facilitate several projects.  [26/01/14]
