Precious Shipping scraps handysize bulker

Thailand’s Precious Shipping has confirmed it has sold its 20-year-old handysize bulk carrier Ploypailin Naree for scrap to Pakistani buyers at a price of $1.74m or around $287 per ldt.

Brokers reported the sale of the Japan-built vessel in late December, but no other details about the sale were disclosed at that time.

Precious’ fleet of handy bulkers now comprises 28 vessels, of which five are 20 years old or older.
