Prosafe awarded contract extension by Equinor

Offshore accommodation platform operator Prosafe has been awarded a six-month contract extension by Equinor for its 2015-built semi-submersible floatel Safe Boreas.

The extension is the second of six one-month options exercised by Equinor to extend the charter of the Safe Boreas, following the platform commencing a 13-month firm operational period from August 2017 at Mariner in the UK sector of North Sea.

The total value of the option is $6m.

Prosafe currently operates a fleet of nine accommodation platforms, with another three newbuildings under construction.
