Prosafe gets huge boost from Statoil delay and extension

Prosafe has announced that it has come to an agreement with Statoil U.K. to re-phase the Mariner Project from 2016 to 2017 while also extending the firm contract period from 8 months to 13 months.

The total of the contract has increased from $76.3m to around $131.8m, inclusive of a charge for the delay.

The Mariner Project is located in the UK Continental Shelf of the North Sea, and operations are now due to commence in the third quarter of 2017. Prosafe will be utilising one of its accommodation support vessels for the contract, either Safe Zephyrus or Safe Boreas.

In addition to extension of the firm hire period of the contact, Statoil will now also have six additional one-month options available.
