Singapore: Cosco has announced that COSCO (Qidong) Offshore has secured an LOI from a subsidiary of Prosafe for the construction of two semi-submersible accommodation vessels with options for four more units.
The two potential contracts are each valued in excess of $200m.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2016 and are a Gusto MSC Ocean 500 design, equipped with 500 beds, DP3 station keeping systems, 10-point chain mooring and 300 ton cranes. [08/11/13]
