Prosafe to scrap accomodation rig

Cyprus-based offshore accommodation vessel operator Prosafe has announced that semi-submersible accommodation vessel Safe Astoria is being sold for recycling.

Safe Astoria was built in 1983 and converted into an accommodation vessel in 2004 and 2005. It has since worked on projects for Woodside in Australia, SEIC in Sakhalin, ConocoPhillips in Indonesia and Shell in the Philippines amongst others.

“This will be the sixth vessel that Prosafe will have sold for recycling since 2016, with the processes being conducted in a responsible manner,” the company said in a statement on LinkedIn.
