Rare mini-cape deal concluded

Brokers tell Splash that Rainbow Maritime has sold the 115,400 dwt mini-capesize bulk carrier Grand Thalia for $16m to Ukraine’s Profy PP .

Clarkson Research’s latest weekly report noted that this is a rare deal as there have been a limited number of sales within the mini-cape sector this year.

Rainbow Maritime is a low profile Hong Kong shipowner.

This is the first move by Profy PP in 2019. Last year the five-ship strong Ukrainian bulker outfit bought the 93,000 dwt bulker Nadine Venture for $17.5m.
