RCL and MCC Transport sign slot sharing agreement

Bangkok: Regional Container Lines (RCL) has signed a slot exchange agreement with Maersk’s intra-Asia specialist MCC Transport. RCL will provide MCC Transport with slots on its RBS service from Hong Kong to Port Authority of Thailand and Laem Chabang. In turn, MCC will provide RCL slots on its IA7 service from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh. The exchange will commence from Hong Kong from 16 May.

"This exchange is a win-win scenario for both RCL and MCC. We have recently adjusted our RBS schedule by dropping Ho Chi Minh while adding PAT in response to our customer's desire for greater frequency, faster transit time as well as PAT coverage. This arrangement will provide our customers who have been accustomed to our previous RBS service with the same window ex Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh with the IA7 and a direct and fast transit as well. For RCL customers, it will be a seamless transition," said an RCL spokesperson.  [07/05/13]
