Greater China

Record breaking issue of SinoShip launches

Dalian: Today sees the launch of the largest SinoShip magazine to date, timed to coincide with this year’s Marintec China. The auspicious 88-page issue features the chairman of fast evolving Brightoil on the cover, but, says editor Sam Chambers, there could have been any number of cover candidates for the Winter 2013 edition of the quarterly title given the strength of the interviews contained inside. “As an editor it is nice to be spoilt for choice and this issue we could have the head of a leading Zhoushan conglomerate on the cover, or Henry Chiang, the president of Tiger-linked Greathorse Shipping, or even the clever owner, Jack Hsu from Oak Maritime. SinoShip continues to distance itself from the pack by its commitment to speak to shipowners across Greater China.”

In the dual language magazine, available free online, readers will note the shadown of Marintec China across the features. Asia’s largest shipping show kicks off in Pudong next week, and SinoShip is an official media partner with a stand (N2A45 in Hall N2) and one of the week’s most anticipated parties. Features within the magazine include propulsion and a special on Shanghai as a growing international maritime centre. Elsewhere, the regular yards page has been extended and features a unique poll of newbuild supervisors to assess the quality of Chinese shipbuilding.
