Singapore: Keppel FELS has secured a repeat contract from UMW Oil & Gas for the construction of a rig vessel worth $218m.
It will be the third KFELS B Class jackup rig for UMW Oil & Gas and is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2015.
The rig can operate in water depths of 400 ft, drilling depth of 30,000 ft and accommodate up to 150 men.
Rohaizad Darus, president of UMW Oil & Gas said the rig aqusisition was in order to “meet the strong demand for premium jackup drilling rigs in the Asia Pacific region”. [07/02/14]
