Rhodium Resources enters shipowning with supramax acquisition

Singapore-based commodity trading company Rhodium Resources has acquired three secondhand supramax bulk carriers, marking the company’s entry into the shipowning sector.

According to the latest shipbroking report by Advanced Shipping & Trading, Rhodium Resources has bought Chinese-built 57,000 dwt bulk carriers Smolensk, Sibai and Saratov from Russian owner FESCO at a price of $11.9m each.

Rhodium Resources mainly trades iron ore, coal and agricultural products and it operates chartered vessels via its fully owned shipping unit Bluefield Maritime.
