Ridgebury Tankers switches eight suezmaxes into Navig8 pool

Connecticut-based tanker owner Ridgebury Tankers has switched eight of its suezmax tankers from Heidmar’s Blue Fin pool to Navig8’s Suez8 pool.

The move is a substantial blow to Heidmar, which recently became fully controlled by George Economou after he took parent company DryShips private.

When Navig8’s Suez8 Pool takes delivery of the vessels, it will double the pool in size to sixteen suezmaxes in total.

“This agreement will significantly increase Navig8’s positioning within the segment,” Navig8 said in a statement.

Ridgebury has nine suezmaxes in its fleet of 24 tankers. The vessels going into the pool are the Ridgebury Lessley B, Ridgebury John Zipser, Ridgebury Nicholas A, Ridgebury Captain Drogin, Ridgebury Mary Selena, Ridgebury Lindy B, Ridgebury Astari, and Ridgebury Alina L.
