Rowan Companies awarded contracts for drillship and jackup pair

Houston-headquarterd offshore driller Rowan Companies has reported new contracts for a drillship and two jackup rigs in its latest fleet status report.

2014-built drillship Rowan Resolute has been awarded a two-well contract awarded by LLOG Exploration commencing mid-year with an estimated duration of 85 days. The contract includes an option for two additional wells.

Jackup rig Rowan Viking (built 2010) has been awarded two contracts, a five-well contract awarded by Shell UK and a two-well contract with MOL. The Shell contract will commence upon completion of the rig’s current contract with Lundin and is estimated at 100 days while the MOL contract is expected to have a duration of 110 days.

Another jackup rig, 2010-built Rowan EXL III, has been awarded a five-well contract by McMoRan in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract commenced last month and expected to take around 105 days.
