Rowan Companies awarded Guyana jackup contract

US offshore driller Rowan Companies, currently in the middle of a $12bn combination with Ensco, has been awarded a one-well contract for 2009-built jackup rig Ralph Coffman.

The contract, with CGX Resources in Guyana, will commence in the second quarter of 2019 and has an estimated duration of 60 days.

The Ralph Coffman is currently on contract with GulfSlope Energy in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
