Russian bulker to be auctioned in the UK

A Russian bulker arrested off the southwest of the UK before Christmas is set to be auctioned off next week. The Kuzma Minin ran aground off Falmouth in December in stormy conditions. Local authorities then identified a series of dangerous defects on the Murmansk Shipping Company controlled vessel. The ship has since been impounded along with its 18-strong crew as the owner owes many debts to creditors. Murmansk Shipping’s dire financial position has been reported by Splash in recent months.

CW Kellock & Co is handling the sale on behalf of the Admiralty Court in London with offers due by Tuesday.
