Safargo Shipping orders post-panamax quartet at Tsuneishi Zhoushan

Singapore-based Safargo Shipping has placed an order at Tsuneishi Zhoushan Shipbuilding for the construction of four post-panamax bulk carriers.

The four 99,000 dwt vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2019 and 2020 and will be used for grain shipping between China and the Americas.

Safargo Shipping is a joint venture between Chinese grain trader Shandong Bohi Industry Group and Shanghai-based ship chartering agency Vertical Horizon Shipping. The company currently controls two panamax bulkers, Valiant Spring and Valiant Summer, via financial leasing arrangements with Bank of Communications Financial Leasing.
