Sainty Marine involved in more charter disputes

Financially troubled Sainty Marine has announced that it has filed lawsuits against Nanjing Huajin Shipping, Nanjing Huahai Shipping and Hubei Huahai Shipbuilding Industry over ship charter disputes at Wuhan Maritime Court.

Sainty Marine chartered six vessels in total to Nanjing Huajin Shipping, Nanjing Huahai Shipping and Hubei Huahai Shipbuilding Industry under bareboat charter contracts in 2014.

However, the three companies haven’t made any charter payments for the vessels since the signing of contracts.

Sainty Marine has requested to terminate the contracts and claim chartering fees and relevant interest of RMB63m ($9.8m) in total from the three companies.

Sainty Marine is working on a rescue plan for the shipyard, and is currently involved in dozens of court cases.
