Saipem wins brace of contracts

Italy’s Saipem has been awarded two new offshore contracts worth a total of Euros 180m ($196.9m).

Statoil has awarded Saipem an installation contract for the Johan Sverdrup export pipelines project, where Saipem will be responsible for the installation of a 156 km 18-inch gas export pipeline for the Kårstø gas terminal and a 282 km 36-inch oil export pipeline for the Mongstad terminal.

Saipem will utilise ultra-deep water pipe-layer CastorOne for the work, which is scheduled to start in spring 2018.

Additionally, PSA Panama International Terminal has awarded Saipem and Jan De Nul an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the expansion of the International Terminal located at the Panama Canal’s Pacific entrance.

Saipem and Jan De Nul will execute the dredging and excavation of approximately 4 million cu m of material to a depth of 16.3m and the construction of an 800m quay wall.
