Salif port closed for repairs

Dubai: Captain Mohammed Abu Bakr Isaac,  ceo and chairman of the board of directors of the Red Sea Ports in Yemen said that working in Salif  port has been suspended from Sunday evening in order to maintain the docks from collapsing. The ceo cited the Yemeni Company for Industrial Investments as a culprit for the forced closure as the company brought in a 75,000 dwt to dock at the port, which is only able to handle ships of up to 50,000 dwt.  [11/07/13]
