Santos Brasil mulls sale of container terminal at Port of Imbituba

Brazilian holding company Santos Brasil Participacoes SA is considering selling part or all of its assets at the Port of Imbituba, including the container terminal there, according to Reuters.

Santos Brasil is, through its subsidiaries, the country’s largest port operator and provider of logistics for cargo transportation.

Its board has voted to approve new options for the Tecon Imbituba container terminal at the port, located in the state of Santa Catarina in the south of the country.

A sale is only one option, exchange filings reveal. It is also possible that new partners could be brought on board.

Santos Brasil, which has operated the container terminal since 2008, says it has not received any offers as yet.
