SapuraKencana Brazilian jv wins $2.7bn contract

Kuala Lumpur: Sapura Navegação Marítima (SNM), a jointly controlled entity between TL Offshore (TLO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SapuraKencana and Seabras Servi?os De Petroleo, a subsidiary of Seadrill has received notification from Petrobras that SNM has been awarded  contracts to charter and operate three units of pipe laying support vessels (PLSVs) at total award value of approximately $2.7bn.

The contracts are for a period of eight years with an extension option for an additional eight years and are expected to commence by the second quarter of 2016. The three PLSVs will be constructed outside Brazil.  [28/06/13]
