SapuraKencana scores $180m pipeline contract

Kuala Lumpur: SapuraKencana Petroleum has won a $180m three-year engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning job from Trans Thai-Malaysia (Malaysia).

The Trans Thailand-Malaysia project is a gas pipeline linking suppliers in Malaysia to consumers in Thailand. It is a part of the Trans-Asean Gas Pipeline project.

Thailand and Malaysia, via state-owned PTT and Petronas, agreed to a pipeline and gas separation project in 2000 to transport and process natural gas from the gas reserves in the Thai-Malaysia joint-offshore development area.

The development area is located some 255km east of Songkhla Province in the Gulf of Thailand, covering an area of 7,250 sq km.  [10/07/13]
