Beijing: The ceo of Saudi Aramco, the largest oil producer in the world, Khalid al-Falih, said on Tuesday that the company remains "committed" to plans to build an oil refinery with a capacity of 200,000 barrels per day in the southwestern province of Yunnan, China.
The Aramco unit for Foreign Operations signed an agreement in March 2011 with the Chinese oil company, PetroChina, about the construction of the refinery.
Falih told Reuters on a sideline of a conference in Beijing, "We are committed to the Yunnan project and we will continue it."
When Falih was asked if that means supplying crude oil or investing the construction of the refinery itself, he answered: "Both." [26/03/13]
