SBM Offshore wins floating windfarm work

SBM Offshore has won a contract with EDF for work on a pilot floating windfarm at the Provence Grand Large project.

The contract follows the French government’s announcement earlier this month that it had selected the EDF Energies Nouvelles proposal.

The project is subject to achieving committed financing which would result in a contract to include engineering, procurement, construction and installation services for three floating systems to be installed offshore France.

The company will provide its proprietary floating systems solution for offhsore wind turbines.
