Scott Bergeron joins Oldendorff

Scott Bergeron, former head of the Liberian Registry, has joined German dry bulk owner Oldendorff Carriers as director of business development and strategy.

Bergeron left the Liberian Registry in March, and will remain in the United States based in Washington DC working closely with Oldendorff’s offices in Connecticut and Lubeck, Germany.

“Oldendorff Carriers is very pleased that Scott Bergeron has joined us and we look forward to working with him. We are certain that his knowledge and experience will contribute to Oldendorff Carriers in a positive way,” a spokesperson for the company said.

Bergeron told Splash the new role is a great opportunity for him to move back to the shipowning and chartering side of the business.

“I am looking forward to developing commercial opportunities in the US market as well as and being involved in the regulatory and policy side of the business. This is a one of a kind role,” said Bergeron, whose earlier career included a stint with Swedish owner Laurin.
