Sea World Management adds its ninth MR tanker

Monaco-based Sea World Management has moved to add a ninth unit to its fleet of MR tankers.

Sources report to Splash that the shipping and ship management company, headed by Roberto Corvetta, has emerged as the buyer of the 2005-built medium range tanker Cape Beira, sold by Columbia Shipmanagement for a price of some $9.5m.

Sea World Management declined to comment on the report, however the tanker fits the profile of its fleet of MR tankers aged from 15 to 20 years. Earlier this year the company also sold the 2001-built handysize Aston I for roughly $7.5m to the Dubai-based Al Bear Al Aswad Diesel Trading LLC.
