Seabed Geosolutions scores seismic contracts worth $60m

Seabed Geosolutions, the seismic joint venture between Fugro and CGG, has been awarded a pair of seismic acquisition projects worth around $60m.

The company was awarded a 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) seismic acquisition project offshore Trinidad by BHP. The project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2018.

Additionally, Shell in Nigeria has awarded a contract for a 4D OBN project in the Bonga Field offshore Nigeria, also commencing in the first quarter of 2018.

Stephan Midenet, CEO of Seabed Geosolutions, commented: “We are delighted to partner with BHP for their first ever OBN survey over an existing field offshore Trinidad. We are confident that our technology, coupled with our operational track record, will provide BHP with the data quality they need to meet their development goals.”
