Cyprus-based seismic service provider SeaBird Exploration has secured a letter of intent for the exclusive provision of source vessel services for an OBN survey in the Eastern Hemisphere.
The survey is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2020, with an approximate duration of 60 – 90 days.
Seabird currently operates a fleet of six survey vessels. The company reported a 68% utilisation rate of its fleet in the third quarter of this year, up from 55% during the same period of 2018. It also plans to restructure its organisation to be project-based and geared towards operating 3-4 vessels operating in OBN source and 2-3vessels in niche 3D and 2D.
