Seadrill drillship awarded Petronas contract

Norway’s Seadrill Partners has secured contract in Malaysia with Petronas Carigali for 2008-built drillship West Capella.

The contract is for one well, with two options, and the firm part of the contract is valued at around $11m.

Commencement of the contract is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.

West Capella is currently in the middle of a five-well contract with Sabah Shell Petroleum off Malaysia.
