SeaIntel: International roll out

Copenhagen: It’s only two years old, and yet SeaIntel Maritime Analysis has made such a splash that it has been accepted as part of the mainstream analysis picture.

This is in no small part down to Lars Jensen, SeaIntel’s incisive ceo. With a PH.D in complex mathematical analysis in physics, and 12 years in the liner industry predominantly with Maersk, SeaIntel’s forecasts and prognoses for container shipping are among the sharpest and now most keenly read.

As the company enters its third year of operations there is a large roll out of international offices coming up. This has seen a Hong Kong office open up in the past month and both Singapore and Dubai are on the cards in the coming months to go alongside SeaIntel’s existing offices in Copenhagen and the US.

“We do intend to expand further,” says Jensen. Further offices will be dictated by potential customers and also the ease to hire highly qualified staff, he explains.

Jensen is well aware that there is plenty of competition when it comes to liner analysis, but he is quick to outline why SeaIntel is different. “We find that we have a unique blend of very strong analytical skills, combined with more than 50 years combined of working within the container carriers,” he says. “We are therefore able to perform analysis which is rooted in both a theoretical framework as well as the down-to-earth common sense which stems from having been within the business.”  [18/03/13]
