Second worker death at Cheniere’s under-construction Sabine Pass LNG terminal

A worker has died at Cheniere Energy’s under-construction Sabine Pass LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Local news station KPLC reported that the worker was transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. The cause of death was not made public.

The incident happened on Monday and is the second fatality at the site in less than a month as another worker died on October 17 after falling from scaffolding.

The plant is being built by Bechtel for Cheniere which is aiming to ship some of America’s abundance of LNG to markets in Europe once the terminal is up and running – expected to be early in 2016.
