Sembawang Shipyard becomes RCL favourite

 

Singapore: Sembcorp Marine’s Sembawang Shipyard has announced that its been awarded the favoured customer contract from Royal Caribbean Cruises to provide ship-repair, revitalisation, upgrading and related marine services for its fleet of 41 cruise ships. 
 
The contract involves two cruise ships calling at the yard for revitalization and a third ship drydocking for repairs during 2013 with a value of $50-70 million. It also commits to joint planning, information and experience sharing.
 
Wong Lee-Lin, executive director of Sembawang Shipyard said "Sembawang Shipyard has over the recent few years, focused strongly on the development of our fast-growing niche markets, one of which is the cruise ship repairs/upgrades and conversion market.” [11/12/12]
