Sembcorp Marine awarded FPSO modification job by Teekay Offshore

Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine has been awarded a contract by Teekay Offshore Partners for the modification, repair and life extension of the Petrojarl Varg FPSO.

The contract scope includes engineering, fabrication, installation and integration of the topside process skid; overhauling of existing internal turret and power generation; and repair and life extension of the vessel’s hull, tanks and various systems onboard.

Sembcorp Marine estimates the contract value at around $166m and work is scheduled for completion in July 2020.

The FPSO will be operated by Alpha Petroleum Resources at the Cheviot field development and the Peel satellite accumulation, located in the UK North Sea.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore.
