Seven Islands acquires Eastern Pacific MR tanker

Indian owner Seven Islands continues its buying spree on the sale and purchase market, acquiring the 2002-built 46,000 dwt MR tanker Ceylon from Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping.

According to shipbroking sources, the Japanese-built tanker was sold for a price of $7.7m. It is the ninth vessel Seven Islands has acquired this year.

FIH Mauritius Investments, an investment arm of Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings, acquired a 42.9% stake in Seven Islands Shipping this year.

Seven Islands currently owns a fleet of 18 tankers.
