Seven Islands Shipping pounces for released Torm MR2

India’s Seven Islands Shipping has forked out $8.5m to acquire Torm’s 2002-built MR2 tanker Torm Amazon, according to Seasure Shipbroking and Advanced Shipping & Trading.

The vessel featured prominently across maritime media recently, days after Splash first reported that Singapore trust FSL Trust had arrested it in Taiwan.

Torm Amazon was arrested in Kaohsiung following a dispute between Torm and FSL over the condition of two vessels, 2006-built LR2 product tankers Torm Margrethe and Torm Marie, redelivered to FSL by Torm in the summer of 2018.

Splash understands the arrest was lifted, and the sale was not related to the matter.
