Seven Islands takes 11th ship of the year

Seven Islands Shipping’s purchasing spree continues with its eleventh purchase in 2019. This time India’s fastest growing tanker owner has sealed its ninth vintage handysize tanker deal of the year, paying $6.7m for the 19-year-old 46,000 dwt Apostolos A. The ship was sold by Greece’s Ancora Invest. The Korean-built vessel has been renamed Jasmine.

While Seven Islands is adding one vintage handysize tanker after another, the Greek seller is doing the opposite. This sale is the second ship it has sold to Seven Islands. At the beginning of the year it sold a sister ship for a similar price to its Indian friend.
