Shandong Huahai’s last newbuilding off to Oldendorff

Several broker reports link German bulk specialist Oldendorff to last week’s auction of an unfinished handysize sold ‘as is’ for $6.75m from bankrupt Shandong Huahai Shipbuilding. The 36,000 dwt sized Long Fortune is scheduled for delivery in June.

The vessel was earmarked for auction for the first time by the Qingdao Maritime Court at the end of 2014, when a dispute arose between the shipyard and Yantai Pacific Offshore, which ordered the vessel in 2010, according to brokers records.
