Shandong Shipping enters tanker market

China’s Shandong Shipping has announced that the company plans to invest in two MR tankers, after establishing two single vessel subsidiaries Shandong Weihe Tanker Transport and Shandong Zihe Tanker Transport in Hong Kong.

Shandong Shipping said the company will make efforts to make a breakthrough in the capital market this year and promote the overseas listing of the company’s assets in the future.

Shandong Shipping currently operates a fleet of 34 vessels, mostly bulk carriers and VLGCs. It entered the offshore sector in 2014, ordering four jackup platforms which are currently under construction at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
