Shanghai International Port Group sets up JV in Hunan

Shanghai: Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) has signed a strategic agreement with Hunan Provincial Government to establish a joint venture, named Hunan Chenglingji Port Group, to develop river ports in the province.

Hunan government has put the development of Chenglingji Port, a river port on the mid-stream of Yangtze River, as the priority for the province’s shipping development.

SIPG has been expanding its business network to inland rivers in recent years. According to the agreement, SIPG will invest in the development of a container terminal and river-sea shipping business. [31/12/14]
