Shearwater GeoServices awarded Barents Sea survey by Wintershall

Shearwater GeoServices has been awarded a contract by Wintershall Norge for a 3D survey of Blocks PL 768 and 768B in the Barents Sea.

The 965 square kilometre survey will utilise the Polar Empress in continuation of the vessel’s ongoing survey in the Barents Sea. The project increases Shearwater’s backlog, giving it 90% fleet utilisation in the first three quarters of 2017.

“Needless to say we are very pleased with our performance so far and the same is reflected in the feedback we receive from our clients,” commented Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater GeoServices.

GC Rieber Shipping and Rasmussengruppen teamed up to establish Shearwater GeoServices in October 2016. The company currently has a fleet of four seismic vessels.
