Shearwater GeoServices awarded Latin American survey by Ecopetrol

Shearwater GeoServices has been awarded a 3D Isometrix seismic survey by Colombia’s Ecopetrol, which marks the company’s first Isometrix survey in Latin America.

The survey covers 2,000 square km of 3D seismic offshore Colombia on Ecopetrol’s Block COL-5 and will be acquired by survey vessel SW Amundsen equipped with Isometrix multisensor streamer technology.

The marine acquisition work will start in the fourth quarter.

Shearwater said it has experienced increased activity in Latin America and has established a new Colombian branch to support this coming operation, which follows the recent set-up of a subsidiary in Brazil to support Shearwater’s growth in the region.

Earlier this month, Shearwater was awarded another major survey in South America.
