Shelf Drilling secures two-year jackup contract in Nigeria

Oslo-listed jackup rig pure-play Shelf Drilling has won a two-year contract in Nigeria for the Shelf Drilling Scepter.

The drilling campaign for an undisclosed operator is set to start in May 2023 and comes with a one-year option attached.

The firm contract is worth around $118m, including mobilisation revenue.

Dubai-headquartered Shelf with a fleet of 36 jackups acquired the 2008-built Shelf Drilling Scepter for $90m from Diamond Offshore in 2018. The unit has been in Singapore since last August after completing its contract in Vietnam.
