Shell Midstream Partners, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, on Wednesday announced it had acquired stakes in three Gulf of Mexico oil and gas pipeline operators.
The Houston-based company – set up by Shell for exactly the purpose of acquiring pipelines and other midstream assets – secured the stakes from BP.
It took 10% interests in Proteus Oil Pipeline Company and Endymion Oil Pipeline Company, plus a 1% interest in Cleopatra Gas.
Proteus and Endymion both have pipelines in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf and each has capacity to produce 425,000 bpd.
