Shell keen to build FSRU to serve the Philippines

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, is planning a floating storage facility for liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 2017 if Manila makes a regulatory framework for customers and builds the Batangas-Manila (Bat-Man) 1 pipeline.

Citing cheaper costs, Shell has opted for a 170,000 cu m floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) rather than an onshore facility at its property in Batangas.  [28/06/13]
