Shin Yang takes legal action against Gemilang Raya Maritime

Malaysian shipping and shipbuilding group Shin Yang Shipping Corporation has filed a claim in the North Jakarta District Court against PT Gemilang Raya Maritime over a ship acquisition deal.

According to Shin Yang, the company sold and delivered four tugboats in October 2016 to PT Gemilang Raya who has yet to make payment for the vessels and respond to two payment demand letters sent in March and April 2017.

The four vessels in the deal, GRM Indramayu, GRM Asahan, GRM Polewali and GRM Sipirok have a total contract value of RM6m ($1.43m).
