Ships hit Yemeni quays

Dubai: A couple of Yemeni ports were hit by ships in the past couple of days. A tanker hit a berth at Mocha port, damaging the quayside on Sunday. Meanwhile, a ship carrying 29,700 tons of wheat bumped into the quayside when docking at the port of Hodeidah, causing what local media described as severe damage to the port. Hodeidah port has come in for plenty of criticism of late for its inadequate infrastructure which makes ship calls very tricky. No oil spills were reported from either incident.  [02/09/13]
