Shokuyu Tanker sells chemical tanker to Thai firm

The low key Japanese oufit Shokuyu Tanker has sold the eight-year-old Miura Shipbuilding-built, 13,000 dwt chemical tanker Global Ceres for $13m to Thai owner AMA Marine, brokers tell Splash.

The ship will be the second chemical tanker of this size for the Bangkok-listed company. The first 13,000 dwt tanker was bought in October last year. In addition it has another tanker of around 3000 dwt.

AMA Marine was established in 1996 focusing on liquid transportation. It later set up a new company to run inland transport under the name of AMA Logistics.
