Shreyas to take fleet into double-digit territory

Mumbai: The board of Shreyas Shipping & Logistics, the Indian container feeder operator, has approved a plan to acquire four boxships ranging from 1,700 teu to 2,500 teu over a period of 18-24 months.

The details of acquisitions shall be made available once they are finalized.

Shreyas, part of Dubai headquartered conglomerate Transworld Group, currently operates a fleet of six vessels trading on the Indian coast.

Ramesh Ramakrishnan, chairman of Transworld Group, told Maritime CEO earlier this year, “Shreyas is always on the lookout for very specific vessel types to suit requirements on the coast.”
